Our Policy and Terms & Conditions
Our training is based on enabling owners to get the very best out of their dog via the most modern, kindest, effective and scientifically proven dog training.
The policies that we adhere to are written in the interest of safety, responsibility, and care for dogs and their humans whilst in the care of Kirby Dog Training.
Aversive and harsh handling is forbidden. We will not tolerate choke chains and other punitive techniques. Our training embraces humane, scientifically sound training practices based on learning theory and understanding of canine behaviour, and excludes pain-inducing, fear-inducing, or avoidance-based techniques.
Refunds cannot be given after your Training Programme has started.
If the sessions are cancelled before the first session, there will be an admin fee starting at £50 depending on the size of the package and the amount of admin involved in arranging the sessions, which will be deducted from the refund.
Sometimes our work is impacted by train/tube or bus strikes; this is out of our control. We will reschedule (with you) as soon as the strikes are off at the earliest mutually convenient time.
Kirby Dog Training cannot accept responsibility for loss, injury, damage or death to dog, person or property.
Payment is required before your first session. Payment can be made via BACS prior to your session.
Sessions expire after 6 or 12 months of booking them (the 3 and the 6 hour package is 6months, and the 10 hour package is 12 months)
Cancellation Policy: Cancellations or rescheduling of session dates/times will be allowed up to 72 working hours before the agreed session was due to take place. After this time, you will have to forfeit the session and pay for it.
Reminders will be sent before your scheduled online/in-person session. If you do not turn up to our session, I will wait for 15mins and then stop the session. No-shows will be charged for the missed hour in full.
On rare occasions, we may have to cancel our session due to illness or unforeseen circumstances, if this is the case, we will try and accommodate you into our next available slot and try our best to give you as much notice as possible. Refunds cannot be given in these cirumstances.
Subsequent bookings are the responsibility of the client. We recommend booking at least 4-6 weeks in advance, with a maximum frequency of one session a fortnight. Although we endeavour to reply to social media messages, business is conducted and confirmed via email and or phone call.
Online sessions cannot be moved to in-person.
International bookings are bound to all of the above.
By booking sessions, you are agreeing to the use of photos of your dog and their training journey on social media and on our website for promotional purposes. Please let us know at your first session if you would prefer for your dog not to be included.
By booking a session or a block of sessions with us, you are agreeing with all of the above.
Kirby’s Adolescent School’s Policy
This should be booked by contacting me directly. Full payment in advance is required to secure your place.
Refunds cannot be given unless your place in the class can be filled. This would need to be before the course has started. If your place is filled then a refund can be issued (minus a 10% admin fee).
Pups should not attend class if they have diarrhoea or sickness within 24 hours prior to class (unless cleared by your vet) nor if your pup is coughing or showing any symptoms of kennel cough (please check with your vet if you are unsure).
Female pups coming into season or in season can not attend class. Refunds cannot be given for missed classes but notes will be provided to you and coaching support can be given online where you video your practice and receive feedback.
Thank you,
Ella & Alistair at Kirby Dog Training
