The Paws & Pause Crowdfunder : Changing Human Lives with Dog Daycare

Who are they?

Paws & Pause is more than just a dog daycare; they are a social enterprise with a mission. Established since 2019 in Brixton and Peckham, Paws & Pause provides a safe, loving and enriching environment for dogs while also delivering life-changing traineeships for individuals who have experienced long-term unemployment due to mental illness and substance addiction. As of this week, they have launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise money for their programme!

Paws & Pause believe that dogs are powerful catalysts for positive change. They advocate for the therapeutic benefits of animal-assisted activities, particularly for those dealing with mental health challenges and substance use disorders. Their  mission is to harness the unconditional love of dogs to help individuals in recovery rebuild their lives, gain employment, and improve their overall well-being.

By attending a 6 month (minimum) training programme with Paws & Pause - individuals gain access to 1:1 employability advice, immersive work experience,  a supportive team and next steps support and funding.

The Crowdfunder

Having opened a second daycare in 2023, Paws & Pause now has the capacity to help 50 people per year (that’s twice the previous capacity!) and are now crowdfunding to help cover the costs of running the programme - in addition to traditional donations, they’re also offering some exciting rewards and products in exchange for donations.
